How to Download Your Aadhaar Card Online (Step-by-Step Guide)
Aadhaar is a unique identity number issued by the Indian government. If you have already enrolled for Aadhaar and want to download a digital copy (e-Aadhaar), here’s how you can do it easily online.
Step 1: Visit the Official UIDAI Website
Go to the official Aadhaar website: https://uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’
On the homepage, look for the option Download Aadhaar or visit directly: https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 3: Enter Your Details
- Aadhaar Number / Enrolment ID / Virtual ID
- Full Name (as per Aadhaar)
- Pin Code
- Captcha code
Step 4: Request for OTP
Click on Send OTP. You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
Step 5: Enter OTP and Download
Enter the OTP received and click on Verify and Download. Your e-Aadhaar PDF file will start downloading.
Step 6: Open e-Aadhaar
The downloaded e-Aadhaar PDF is password protected. The password is the first four letters of your name in CAPITAL letters followed by your birth year (YYYY).
Example: If your name is Rahul Kumar and birth year is 1990, then the password will be RAHU1990.
Important Notes:
- Only download Aadhaar from the official UIDAI website to avoid fraud.
- Keep your registered mobile number active to receive OTP.
- If you have not registered your mobile number, visit an Aadhaar enrollment center to update it.
